The MOM-accredited commercial diver training centre KBA Training Centre Pte Ltd (KBAT) has signed an MOU with Professional Diving Academy (PDA) in the UK, whereby commercial divers trained by KBAT under the ISO 29990 standard and Ministry of Manpower Singapore Standards can attend a TOP UP course at PDA to complete their HSE Offshore Diving training (air dive to 50m).
Locally Trained Commercial Divers can look forward to ‘Top-up’ their training to HSE UK Accredited (IMCA Recognised) Standard.
Over the recent months, KBAT has been working closely with PDA to provide the relevant information so that HSE recognition of a prior learning and competence would be accepted.
Now, delegates who have completed the four-week Level 1 Commercial SCUBA Diver course and four-week Level 2 Surface Supplied Diving Equipment Diver course can thereafter apply to PDA to attend a training programme to complete the UK HSE offshore air diving qualification.
The HSE commercial offshore diving certificate is automatically recognised by IMCA, and is regarded by many in the oil and gas industry as the ‘Gold Standard’. It is preferred by many major clients that require divers for subsurface repair and maintenance projects.
